Today I took some time to visit my local thrift store. (I have this attraction to "OLD with character".)
After perusing the household items, I pushed the cart through the clothing aisles. During this particular time in the morning, I was noticing that I was definitely the youngest shopper within the store. And, everyone was solo.
Making my way through the yellows, oranges, pinks, and reds, I turned the end of the aisle, and found myself cart to cart with another female shopper. I gave her a smile, and she held up a blue sweater, muttered a few quiet words, and placed the blue sweater back on the rack. I became immersed in the sea of blues, and we worked side by side together, our hands in harmony as we moved through the hanging blue sweaters. She then pulled out another blue, held it up against her torso, and saw that I was watching her action. I smiled, offering her that opportunity to interact. (So rare this is now-a-days, isn't it? Interacting with a complete stranger?!)
"This is such a cute sweater" she exclaimed. "Yes!" I agreed. Then, we continued working side by side, shopping together and supporting each other with fashion feedback.
This adorable woman was old enough to be my grandmother. And she was alone in the store. But she was only alone until I turned the end of that aisle, at which time, our paths crossed, and we entered each other's life zones. I was glad to be there, at that moment, to give her some fashion support, and sincere interaction.
All within the sea of blues.
Be aware of your smiles, and realize how often you give them out! Can you remember the last interaction you had with a stranger that may have begun as a result of a smile? Please share!
How the little things we do and say to each other impacts all of us. Indirectly, and directly. So, remember, kindness out, kindness in! "Do good to others.."

Greetings, and thank you!
"Today is the first day of the rest of my life."
I love that quote. And I love the fact that I am in control of my life journey. That is me, as well as the hundreds of people that interface with me each day. How they treat me at times can impact my demeanor. And, my treatment will impact them. So, I make a conscious decision to treat people kindly, with respect, and a smile. Each day! Good karma out, good karma in!
This blog is a way for me, and you, to share with others how we have kindly impacted others, each day, on our own life's journeys.
